Hello again! Please enjoy our online newsletter. As always, if you don’t want to receive this you can click ‘unsubscribe’ and we remove you from our mailing list. There are lots of new happenings around the BMW world. One of the things you’ll notice when you come in for service is that we will be updating our records with your email address. BMW corporate has asked us retailers to be able to contact our customers through email for things like service campaigns, bulletins, and for providing us feedback via a customer experience survey. And if you prefer, we can update you through email on your vehicle’s progress in service. In the age of the Blackberry, this might make your service experience more seamless.
We also have new products on the horizon. Most exciting is the redesigned 7 Series that will be in the showroom in mid-march. This vehicle has been completely redesigned inside and now features a standard twin-turbo V8 engine that puts out 400 HP! A little further down the line, the new hardtop Z4 roadster will be here. This car will be bigger than the old Z4 with new exterior, new interior and new engines.
And what about the ‘Stimulus Package’ here at Crown BMW? Currently, BMW financial is offering interest rates as low 0.9% on 60 months for most new cars and many used cars! Also, current BMW owners can receive up to $2,500 cash incentives to buy. See us for the details. LoJack
According to the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report, 1.1 million motor vehicles were reported stolen, resulting in $7.4 billion in lost assets. In the U.S. alone, a vehicle is reported stolen every 26.4 seconds. Last year 1.2 million vehicles were stolen across the country. Due to this overwhelming phenomenon, many are turning to LoJack as a solution. Thanks to LoJack, over $4 billion in stolen assets have been recovered worldwide up to date.
The patented LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System includes a small radio frequency transceiver hidden in one of up to 20 places in your vehicle. Each LoJack system has a unique code that is tied to the VIN. When a vehicle theft is reported to the police, a routine entry into the state police crime computer results in a match of the LoJack System's unique code against the state VIN database. This automatically activates the LoJack Unit in your vehicle, which emits an inaudible signal. Law enforcement authorities equipped with LoJack police tracking computers in their police cars and aviation units are always listening for a LoJack signal.

2006 BMW 5 Series
A local Kernersville, NC resident awoke one night to discover her vehicle missing from the family’s garage. After reporting the vehicle stolen, the vehicle information was entered into the NCIC police computer, automatically activating the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. Within 19 minutes of this occurring, officers with the Guilford County Sheriff Office picked up the signal and located the undamaged vehicle in High Point, NC. The suspect was found to be in possession of the vehicle and later arrested for the Felony Possession of Stolen Property.

Recently, Car & Driver staff gathered to test and determine the 10 best cars of 2009, from a wide array of vehicles, based on three major categories; performance, emotional satisfaction, and competitiveness of the car’s pricing in comparison to level of versatility, practicality, and offered fun.
This year, as part of Car & Driver 2009 10 Best cars, the BMW 3 Series once again takes a top spot thanks to a long list of remarkable attributes. According to Car & Driver, the 2009 3 Series is a piece of perfection with its eager responses, supple ride quality, smooth power, supportive seats, athletic proportions with limited front overhand, attractive styling with familial features that endure through the generations, and is undoubtedly always entertaining to drive. According to Car & Driver, not only is this true for the 2009, the addition has been coming out the same way now for 18 years: a string of consecutive 10 Best Cars appearances that’s unique in the 27-year history of these awards. “History has shown that there’s always room for improvement. But even so, in our view, no current family of cars comes closer to that elusive target.”

Now, thanks to the high standards we set, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently awarded the 2009 BMW 3 Series, X5, and X3 models top ratings in each of its series of crash tests, thus earning each vehicle the Institute’s coveted Top Safety Pick Award.
Believe it or not, receiving the Top Safety Pick for the 2009 BMW 3 Series Sedan, X5, and X3 vehicles is only one of numerous awards BMW has earned from the IIHS over the years. In fact, as a result of IIHS crash tests in 2000, the 2001 BMW X5 earned the unique distinction of not only being the best SUV, but also being the safest vehicle ever tested by IIHS up to that point.
"BMW continues to be committed to both our active and passive safety technologies, and we are pleased to receive the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick award for the 2009 BMW 3 Series Sedan, X5, and X3," said Jim O'Donnell, President of BMW of North America, LLC. In order for a vehicle to become a Top Safety Pick, it must earn "Good" ratings in high-speed Frontal Offset and Side Impact crash tests as well as an evaluation of the vehicle's Rear Crash Protection/Head Restraints. Additionally, as of 2007, winning vehicles must also offer Electronic Stability Control (ESC) – a standard feature on all BMW vehicles, known as Dynamic Stability Control. The IIHS requires this feature based on Institute research indicating that ESC significantly reduces crash risk, especially the risk of fatal single vehicle crashes, by helping drivers maintain control of their vehicles during emergency maneuvers.
